Responsibilities
- Work with other Stripe leaders to design and lead internal tool best practices
- Empower the engineering team to achieve a high level of technical productivity, reliability, and simplicity
- Recruit great engineers in collaboration with Stripe s recruiting team
- Help engineers advance in their careers and develop new skills
- Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of Stripe s engineering management team
- 5+ years of engineering management experience
- 8+ years of full-stack software development experience
- The ability to work well cross-functionally, and the ability to think rigorously and make hard decisions and tradeoffs
- A strong quantitative and analytical background
- The desire to encourage a healthy, inclusive work environment that s both supportive and challenging
- Successfully recruited and built great teams
- Experience managing a web platform team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for different audiences (leadership, users, company-wide)
- The ability to thrive on a high level of ambiguity, autonomy and responsibility
