Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimise scalable, high-performance software applications for EquiLend Spire using Java and Spring Boot.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to gather and refine requirements, ensuring alignment with the strategic goals of the EquiLend Spire platform.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices architecture to support seamless integration with other systems and platforms.
• Implement best practices for software engineering, including code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration/deployment pipelines.
• Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, scalability challenges, and technical issues.
• Mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and frameworks, assessing their potential for enhancing the EquiLend Spire platform.
• Act as a subject matter expert on EquiLend Spires technical architecture and provide guidance on strategic technology decisions.
• Ensure adherence to security and compliance standards throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including QA, DevOps, and support teams, to ensure successful project delivery.

Required Skills

• 4+ years of professional experience in Java development, with a strong focus on building scalable applications using Spring Boot.
• Expertise in designing and implementing microservices-based architectures, including RESTful API development and integration.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, including object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
• Proficiency with build tools like Maven or Gradle and testing frameworks such as JUnit or Mockito.
• Hands-on experience with front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks like Angular or React.
• Knowledge of database systems, including proficiency in SQL and experience with ORM frameworks like Hibernate.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with version control systems, preferably Git, and collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
