Senior General Manager Production (Bright Bar/ Engine Valve shop)

Role & Responsibilities

Production Management:

Develop and execute production plans to meet customer requirements and delivery schedules.

Supervise the operation of Centreless Grinding Machines, Straightening Machines and Peeling Machines (or Peelers).

Processing of High Alloy and Super Alloys up to finishing in the above-mentioned Bright bar shop.

In depth Knowledge of processing High Alloys and Super Alloys in H7, H8, H9. Tolerance in Cold finishing activities.

Knowledge of Planning and rolling of Black Bars required for Bright Bar shop.

Ensure optimal machine utilization and minimize downtime.

Monitor and improve production processes for enhanced quality and efficiency.

Quality Assurance:

Ensure that products meet customers and industry standards (ISO, IATF etc.)

Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to implement corrective actions for defects and process deviations.

Drive a culture of quality consciousness among the production team.

Team Management:

Lead and mentor a team of production engineers, supervisors and operators.

Identify skill gaps and facilitate training programs to enhance technical competencies.

Promote a collaborative and productive work environment.

Operational Excellence:

Implement lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve productivity.

Monitor KPIs such as OEE, production yield, and cycle time.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance shop floor efficiency.

Safety and Compliance:

Ensure adherence to safety audits and address any gaps.

Maintain compliance with environmental and occupational health standards.

Cost Control:

Optimize resource utilization to control production costs.

Analyse production budgets and implement cost saving measures.

Work with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and consumables.

Key Competencies:

Strong knowledge of steel bar manufacturing processes and equipment.

Ability to analyse and resolve operational challenges effectively.

Familiarity with industry-specific quality certifications (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, IATF 16949, NADCAP etc.)

Proficient in production planning and inventory management systems (ERP/SAP etc.)

Expertise in Lean manufacturing and Six sigma methodologies.

Excellent leadership and team building skills.

Strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
