Position Overview:
- The Compliance Manager (CSR) will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring adherence to legal, regulatory, and company policies related to corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives within a sourcing office.
- The role will involve managing CSR programs, monitoring compliance with ethical sourcing practices, and ensuring that the company meets its corporate governance and sustainability standards.
Key Responsibilities:
CSR Strategy & Program Management:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of CSR strategies aligned with corporate objectives and stakeholder expectations.
- Oversee ongoing CSR projects and monitor their progress, ensuring they align with the company's vision, values, and compliance standards.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international CSR-related laws, regulations, and best practices.
Regulatory Compliance Monitoring:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks, including environmental and social governance (ESG) standards.
- Regularly audit sourcing operations and CSR practices to ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and industry standards.
- Work with internal teams and third-party vendors to identify potential compliance risks and implement corrective actions.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Develop and maintain relationships with local authorities, NGOs, and other stakeholders to promote ethical business practices.
- Act as a liaison with relevant departments, including Legal, HR, Procurement, and Operations, to ensure cohesive CSR and compliance implementation.
- Lead CSR communications both internally (employee engagement, training) and externally (public relations, reporting).
Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare regular reports on CSR activities, compliance audits, and performance metrics for senior management.
- Ensure the accurate documentation of CSR activities and compliance initiatives, maintaining records in accordance with legal and organizational requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of sustainability and CSR-related disclosures for annual reports or third-party audits.
Training & Development:
- Conduct compliance and CSR training sessions for employees to promote awareness of policies, ethical sourcing practices, and sustainability initiatives.
- Create educational materials to increase knowledge on CSR goals, regulatory requirements, and ethical practices across the sourcing function.
Continuous Improvement:
- Regularly assess and improve CSR practices to enhance operational efficiency and social impact.
- Recommend and implement improvements to CSR programs, ensuring they stay relevant to the evolving regulatory and business landscape.
Ethical Sourcing & Sustainability:
- Work closely with procurement and sourcing teams to ensure that suppliers adhere to ethical, sustainable, and socially responsible practices.
- Monitor sustainability efforts and report on progress towards environmental, social, and governance goals.
Skills & Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Law, Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in compliance, CSR, or sustainability roles, preferably in a sourcing office or manufacturing environment.
Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of CSR, sustainability practices, ethical sourcing standards, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and deliver training programs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with CSR reporting tools
