Specialist in Pharmaceutical Machinery Procurement

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist in Pharmaceutical Machinery Procurement to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in handling procurement activities for pharmaceutical machinery and equipment, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality acquisitions. This role requires strong analytical, negotiation, and relationship-building skills to manage suppliers and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Strategy and Execution:

• Develop and implement effective procurement strategies for pharmaceutical machinery and equipment.
• Identify and evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities.
• Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and emerging technologies.

Supplier Management:

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms to achieve the best value for the organization.
• Monitor supplier performance and address issues related to delivery, quality, and compliance.

Tendering and Contract Management:

• Prepare tender documents, evaluate bids, and recommend supplier selection based on technical and commercial criteria.
• Manage procurement contracts, ensuring terms and conditions are met.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) requirements.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure purchased machinery meets technical specifications and industry standards.

Budget and Cost Control:

• Manage procurement budgets and track spending to ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and delivery timelines.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with engineering, production, and project teams to understand machinery requirements and specifications.
• Coordinate with logistics and warehousing teams for timely delivery and installation.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier evaluations.
• Generate regular reports on procurement performance and savings achieved.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in procurement of pharmaceutical machinery and equipment, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
• Strong understanding of GMP requirements and regulatory compliance in pharmaceutical procurement.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in procurement tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is a plus.
