Job Summary:

The Maintenance Engineer will ensure the smooth operation, upkeep, and reliability of machinery and equipment in the fabrication plant. The role involves maintaining and repairing machines used in stamping, welding, bending, punching, assembly, and other operations. The engineer will also implement preventive maintenance schedules, troubleshoot breakdowns, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimize plant efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Maintenance and Repairs:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on stamping, welding, bending, punching, and assembly machines.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems to minimize downtime.
• Diagnose root causes of equipment failures and implement effective solutions.
• Ensure timely repair of equipment to meet production targets.

Preventive Maintenance Planning:

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment.
• Regularly inspect machinery to identify potential issues before they lead to breakdowns.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and machine performance.

Spare Parts Management:

• Monitor inventory of critical spare parts and tools required for maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of spares.

Health, Safety, and Compliance:

• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company safety standards and government regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures for maintenance tasks.
• Train maintenance staff on safety procedures and proper equipment handling.

Continuous Improvement:

• Work with production teams to improve machine efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Suggest and implement modifications to equipment to enhance performance and reliability.
• Participate in Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and other improvement programs.

Vendor and Contractor Management:

• Coordinate with external service providers for specialized maintenance tasks.
• Evaluate and monitor vendor performance for quality and timely service.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.

• Experience:
• 1-4 years of experience in maintenance engineering in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.

• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of stamping, welding, bending, punching, and assembly machines.
• Proficiency in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with PLCs, CNC, and robotic systems is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in maintenance management systems and ERP tools (e.g., SAP).

Preferred:

• Experience in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and Lean Manufacturing.
• Certification in maintenance practices, such as CMRT (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician) or equivalent.

Working Conditions:

• On-site role requiring availability for emergency breakdowns.
• Exposure to a fabrication environment with stamping, welding, and other high-decibel machinery.
