Role Overview:

Seeking an experienced Production Head to oversee the end-to-end manufacturing of LV-HV Electrical control panels, should have familiarity with applicable certification, Quality Std. Government-Related compliance. The ideal candidate should have expertise in fabrication, powder coating, assembly, wiring, electrical testing, and cost optimization of control panel manufacturing. The role also requires strong process quality control, customer quality management, cost analysis, and customer relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

Manufacturing & Process Control

• Manage fabrication of Control Panel/ powder coating processes, ensuring compliance with corrosion resistance and durability standards.
• Expertise Supervise electrical assembly and wiring harness integration for Control Panel
• Implement and maintain Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, to optimize production efficiency and reduce waste.
• Ensure continuous process improvement (CPI) and automation integration in panel production for enhanced productivity.
• Manage tooling, machine calibration, and preventive maintenance schedules for uninterrupted operations.
• Oversee cable routing, crimping, torque tightening, and busbar connections to maintain high-quality electrical integrity.
• Ensure proper documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for fabrication, assembly, and testing.

Process Quality & Customer Quality

• Establish and maintain quality control processes at each stage of production, from raw materials to final product dispatch.
• Implement Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) for defect prevention.
• Conduct process audits, in-line inspections, and final quality checks to meet industry standards.
• Ensure compliance with international quality standards such as ISO 9001:2015, IEC 61439, IS 8623, and UL 508A.
• Drive Zero-Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) by reducing rework, scrap, and rejection rates.
• Ensure customer quality expectations are met by conducting pre-dispatch inspections (PDI) and post-installation performance analysis.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action implementation for non-conformities and defects.
• Manage customer complaint resolution and warranty analysis to enhance satisfaction and brand reputation.

Testing & Government Compliance

• Conduct mandatory type and routine tests as per BIS, IEC 61439, IS 8623, and UL 508A standards.
• Supervise high voltage withstand tests, insulation resistance tests, short-circuit withstand tests, and dielectric strength testing.
• Ensure compliance with IP rating (ingress protection), temperature rise tests, thermal withstand tests, and functional testing.
• Coordinate with NABL-certified labs, third-party inspectors, and government regulatory bodies for certification approvals.
• Maintain strict EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) and OHS (Occupational Health & Safety) standards as per ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018.
• Ensure product traceability and compliance with statutory documentation.
• Handle audits from government bodies, consultants, and customers for quality and compliance verification.

Production Planning & Inventory Control

• Develop monthly & weekly production schedules based on demand forecasts, capacity planning, and resource availability.
• Optimize material procurement & inventory management through ERP software (SAP), reducing waste and improving cost efficiency.
• Coordinate with design, procurement, quality control, and logistics teams to ensure seamless production and on-time delivery.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives, efficiency improvements, and resource optimization for profitability.
• Monitor and control production lead times, bottlenecks, and downtime reduction strategies.

Panel Costing & Financial Optimization

• Analyse material, labour, and overhead costs to maintain cost-effective panel production.
• Develop cost estimation models for different types of control panels
• Identify cost-saving opportunities in material selection, manufacturing processes, and procurement strategies.
• Work with the finance team to develop and control budgets, cost projections, and cost-cutting measures.
• Monitor profitability margins and optimize pricing strategies to maintain competitiveness in the market.

Customer Relationship & Business Development

• Work closely with customers to understand technical requirements and quality expectations.
• Provide technical consultation on product selection, customization, and application suitability.
• Handle customer complaints, warranty claims, and field failure analysis to improve satisfaction levels.
• Maintain strong relationships with key clients, suppliers, third-party inspectors, and certification bodies.
• Attend client meetings, industry events, and trade fairs to build long-term business relationships.

Team Management & Training

• Lead and mentor shop-floor supervisors, QC inspectors, and test engineers to ensure high-performance manufacturing.
• Develop training programs on panel wiring, busbar connections, functional testing, and regulatory compliance.
• Establish KPI-based performance evaluation for production efficiency, quality compliance, and cost control.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, innovation, and accountability within the production unit.
• Implement safety training programs to maintain a zero-incident workplace.

Key Skills & Requirements:

• B.E./Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in control panel manufacturing (HV/LV).
• Strong knowledge of LV & HV Control Panel
• Hands-on experience in fabrication, powder coating, assembly, and functional testing.
• Expertise in Process Quality Control (PQC) and Customer Quality Management (CQM).
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP) for production planning and inventory control.
• Ability to handle regulatory audits, compliance inspections, and third-party certifications.
• Strong analytical skills for cost estimation, budget planning, and process optimization.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to maintain customer satisfaction.
