Job Description: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of stamping (Press machines), welding machines, grinding, tapping , wire cut machines, assembly equipment, bending machines, and other plant machinery used in the manufacturing of sheet metal electrical components. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in preventive and breakdown maintenance, troubleshooting, and process optimization to ensure smooth operations and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Machine Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for all plant machinery.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults in stamping, welding, grinding, bending, wire cut and assembly machines.
• Ensure minimal breakdown time and quick resolution of machine failures.

2. Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

• Handle electrical maintenance of machines, panels, motors, and plant utilities.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults, wiring issues, and circuit failures.
• Ensure safety compliance with electrical installations and repairs.
• Work on PLC troubleshooting, sensors, and automation systems (if applicable).

3. Preventive Maintenance & Documentation:

• Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule for all equipment.
• Maintain maintenance logs, service reports, and spare parts inventory.
• Analyze breakdown trends and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.

4. Equipment Installation & Upgrades:

• Supervise installation, commissioning, and testing of new machinery.
• Recommend and implement machine modifications and automation for efficiency improvements.
• Work with the production and quality teams to optimize machine performance.

5. Spare Parts & Inventory Management:

• Maintain an adequate stock of critical spare parts to reduce downtime.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for procurement of maintenance materials.
• Implement cost-effective maintenance solutions without compromising machine efficiency.

6. Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments and safety audits for equipment and plant operations.
• Train operators and technicians on proper machine handling and safety procedures.

Key Skills & Competencies:

✔ Hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems maintenance.

✔ Strong knowledge of stamping, welding, grinding, bending, and assembly machines.

✔ Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and root cause analysis.

✔ Experience in preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.

✔ Knowledge of PLC systems, automation, and machine retrofitting (preferred).

✔ Strong documentation and reporting skills using Excel and CMMS.

✔ Good communication and teamwork skills for working with production, quality, and supply chain teams.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: Diploma/bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum 2-7 years in a maintenance role in a sheet metal or manufacturing industry.
• Knowledge of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing is an advantage.
