Technical Product Manager - Roadmap & Strategy (4-10 yrs)

Role Overview :

We are seeking an experienced Technical Product Manager with a strong background in Search and Recommendation Systems to lead the development of scalable, AI-driven features. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement intelligent search experiences and recommender systems, ensuring personalized, accurate, and ethical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities :

- Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for company's search and recommendation systems.

- Develop features powered by advanced techniques like semantic search, contextual ranking, and personalized recommendations to enhance discovery and engagement.

- Collaborate with engineering and data science teams to design and implement algorithms for:

- Relevance ranking and ranking optimization.

- Collaborative filtering and content-based recommendations.

- Embedding-based and neural network-driven recommendation systems.

- Knowledge graph-based recommendations.

- Analyze user behavior and data to identify pain points, measure feature effectiveness, and inform iterations.

- Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize tasks, and balance user needs with business goals.

- Drive adoption of scalable infrastructure for deploying and monitoring search and recommendation features.

- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging tools, and technologies in search, semantic analysis, and recommendation engines.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

- 4+ years of experience in product management, focusing on search and recommendation systems or related fields.

- Hands-on experience with search tools and frameworks such as Elasticsearch, Solr, or OpenSearch.

- Proficiency in semantic search technologies, including the use of transformer models like BERT or GPT for embedding-based search and recommendations.

- Knowledge of recommendation engine frameworks like TensorFlow Recommenders, Pytorch, or custom-built models.

- Experience with ranking algorithms, collaborative filtering, content-based filtering, and hybrid recommendation techniques.

- Strong analytical skills, with experience leveraging user behavior data and running A/B tests to optimize features.

- Proven track record of managing cross-functional teams and launching scalable, data-driven features.

- Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical solutions into business value for stakeholders.

Preferred (Not must have) Qualifications :

- Familiarity with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, or Milvus) and their applications in semantic search and recommendations.

- Experience working in a two-sided marketplace or platform business.

- Understanding of knowledge graphs and graph-based recommendation systems.

Prior experience in ethical AI practices and building systems that align with inclusivity standards.
