Finance Manager - Position Description

Position Title: Finance Manager

Location: Chennai, India

Reports to: Global Finance Manager

Other Reporting Lines: Directors i


Required Qualifications:

  1. Three Year Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or equivalent
  2. 10 - 12+ years of financial accounting experience
  3. Ability to effectively organize and structure activities
  4. English Language capability
  5. Strong technical aptitude and ability to grasp a general knowledge of multiple disciplines and technologies
  6. Strong analytical capabilities
  7. Strong interpersonal skills
  8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. US GAAP experience can be trained

Preferred Certifications: CA Inter / CA

The role of the Regional Finance Manager is to:

Lead and manage the Trident regional finance function, in accordance with the Trident Global Strategy and specific Trident Global Finance Strategy objectives, as agreed by the business.

In order to do this, we need accurate financial reporting and effective financial analysis, data and insight to support and inform our decision making to remain a competitive and profitable business.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership:
  2. Integral part of Regional Trident Leadership Team, providing proactive financial reporting, analysis, input and training (as required) to Regional Trident Leadership, Commercial and Operations Management Teams.
  3. Leadership, development and performance management of Regional Trident Accounting Teams.
  4. Member of Trident Global Finance Team, delivering cross regional collaboration and consistency in all accounting matters and contribution to global data analysis and reporting.
  5. Reporting & Analysis

Ensure the delivery of business information and reports required on a regional basis, covering, but not limited to:

  1. Monthly P&L reports and analysis
  2. Financial projections weekly, monthly, quarterly
  3. Profitability - by function, Customer, location
  4. Cost and working capital management
  5. Expansion acquisition, merger and JV arrangements
  6. Functional activities

Efficiently manage the functional activities of the team, including, but not limited to:

  1. Timely completion of monthly regional P&L activities including:
  2. Monthly Economic Bridges & Commentary
  3. Quarterly: Rolling reforecasts, Balance Sheet Flux reports and Capital Cash Flow analysis
  4. Customer invoicing and sales accrual process
  5. Accounts Receivable management
  6. Inventory controls and valuation
  7. Purchasing controls
  8. Inter-company cross charge processes inc transfer pricing (experience preferable)
  9. Safeguarding Assets through Internal Controls through:
  10. Insuring proper controls are in place to minimize risk
  11. Self-audit of operations to insure compliance with Internal Controls
  12. Identification of opportunities to tighten controls and share best practices
  13. Active participation in Corporate Internal and Peer Audits
  14. Capital and lease project analysis, recommendation and project preparation
  15. Contract negotiation support
  16. Corporate Compliance / Statutory Accounting

To ensure the execution of:

TDS calculation and deduction and payment

  • Every month paying of TDS dues to be paid on or before 7th ]
  • TDS Forms: Form-24Q (For Salary) and Form 26Q (Non Salary) on Quarterly Return to be filed 3. After filing Form-16A to be downloaded from portal for Form 26Q (Non Salary) on filing Quarterly Return 4. Yearly Tax Computation of TDS for Staff and thereafter submission for generating Form 16 on a yearly basis

GST Statutory Compliances

  • Every year Renewal of LUT (Letter of Undertaking) - as applicable to us as an Exporting Organization
  • Filing of Form GST-1 - Reporting Sales Details to GST authorities
  • Filing of Form GST-3B - GST Taxes Paid
  • Form RFD-01 - (For claiming of refund of Input GST from Govt Authorities)
  • GSTR-2A Checking of Purchase Input Tax Credit against actual original purchase bills
  • Coordination and follow up with GST Authority for getting refund amount

Provident Fund (PF), Employees State Insurance (ESI), Gratuity -Assistance, Statutory Bonus

  • Checking and Posting Provident Fund (PF) calculation, Monthly payment & returns
  • Checking and Posting of Employee State Insurance (ESI) calculation, monthly pmnt & returns
  • Checking and posting of Final Salary statements
  • Assisting Gratuity consultants is estimating Gratuity, posting and reportd
  • Checking of Salary and Preparation of Bonus Calculations for Accounting

Income Tax

  • Verification and Scrutiny of Books of Accounts and Finalization
  • Preparation of Financial Statements including Various ITR-forms for the Income Tax Department
  • Preparation of Fixed Assets Register cum Depreciation Working Calculation
  • Coordination with the auditors to fulfil the audit requirements and working calculations for them
  • dvance tax to be paid in every quarter ended on 15th (Falling in June, Sep, Dec & Mar)

Ministry of Corporate affairs (MCA) - Statutory Compliances

  • MGT-7 - Prepare and file Annual Return - shares, Directors, AGM and other details
  • AOC-4 - Prepare and file Company Financials every year
  • MGT-4 - Prepare, Record all Special and EGM Resolutions
  • MGT-6 - Olympus Holdings Transfer shares to the Sonoco Ltd
  • DIR-3 KYC - Prepare and complete KYC work for all Directors every year
  • DIR-3 - Induction of New Directors on need basis
  • DIR-8- Intimation by ALL directors to the company & MCA (Every Year)
  • MBP-1- Disclosure by every director
  • PAS-3 - Allotment of New Equity Shares (If FDI comes for buying additional new shares)
  • SH-7 - Increase of Authorised Capital
  • ADT-1 - Prepare the required paperwork for Appointment of Auditors
  • INC-22A - Active (Introduced this year onwards to file)
  • BEN-1-2-3 - Prepare suitable documents to evidence
  • DPT-3 - Report all Deposits collected (nil or any amount) - (Introduced this year onwards to file)
  • MSME1 - Prepare all documents and Declaration to be filed by MSME
  • Supplier Assists and work with Company Secy team to ensure all MCA legal compliances are met (TO VERIFY THE PREPARED DATA AND APPROVE ON BEHALF OF COMPANY SIDE)
  • Prepare and record all Notices to Conduct Board Meetings Prepare all Minutes of the Board Meetings and file with MCA AGM Notices and documentation of AGM which is conducted once in a year

RBI Statutory Compliances

  • FLA Form (Annual Report to be file with RBI ) FC-TRS to file if any share transfer to overseas investor FC-GPRS to file if any FDI to the company apart from the existing
  • Work with Company Secretary and Management for Central Bank (RBI) reporting

44 AB Tax auditing and Statutory Auditing by Independent Auditor

  • Tax audit liaising with auditing team for 3-4 months and subsequent checking
  • Preparation of Directors Report
  • Assisting auditing team with Notes on Accounts in the Annual Report
  • Income tax filings finalising and co-ordinate with PWC Auditors
  • Assist Transfer Price Auditors with various data on competition, trends, supporting information
  • Facilitate with TP auditors for preparation and Filing of Form 3CEB every year
  • Maintenance of all Inter-company service agreements with updates, amends and changes
  • Other critical reportings & compliances
