About the Role :
Seeking a skilled and experienced SAP Payroll Consultant with expertise in US Payroll and Taxation, including deep knowledge of BSI Tax Factory and TUFS (Tax Update Factory Settings). The ideal candidate will work closely with multiple upstream tech team Core HR, Global Time and Attendance, Integration team and existing Payroll team etc to implement, configure, and support SAP Payroll solutions, ensuring compliance with US tax regulations and seamless payroll processing.
This role involves testing and resolving data and feature issues in an already implemented SAP Payroll solution. The candidate will also be responsible for building robust reconciliation processes to ensure data accuracy and compliance with US tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities :
- SAP Payroll Configuration and support systems for US Payroll, including schemas, rules, and wage types.
- Integrate SAP Payroll with BSI Tax Factory to manage accurate payroll tax calculations.
- Ensure proper handling of earnings, deductions, taxations, and exemptions.
- Ensure payroll schemas, rules, and wage types are functioning correctly within the system.
- Verify accurate handling of earnings, deductions, taxations, and exemptions.
- Perform ongoing maintenance of system configurations to meet business and compliance needs.
System Testing & Issue Resolution :
- Conduct thorough testing of the implemented SAP Payroll solution, identifying data and feature issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies in payroll calculations, tax compliance, and system integrations, payroll processing issues, taxation discrepancies, and integration errors.
- Validate BSI Tax Factory and TUFS configurations for accuracy and compliance.
- Provide technical and functional support to payroll business teams and end-users.
Reconciliation Processes :
- Design and implement comprehensive reconciliation processes to ensure payroll accuracy and data consistency.
- Reconcile payroll data across SAP systems, third-party integrations, and financial reports.
- Prepare detailed reconciliation reports for payroll audits and compliance checks.
US Payroll Tax Compliance :
- Stay updated on federal, state, and local tax regulations, ensuring payroll compliance.
- Manage TUFS (Tax Update Factory Settings) updates to maintain tax accuracy.
System Upgrades & Maintenance :
- Implement and test SAP HR Support Packages (HRSPs) and TUFS updates.
- Perform payroll system upgrades, enhancements, and patches.
- Conduct end-to-end payroll testing to ensure accurate results after updates.
Process Optimization :
- Identify and implement process improvements in payroll operations, leveraging SAP best practices.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance payroll efficiency.
Documentation :
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for configurations, processes, and updates.
- Create user manuals and provide training to payroll teams as required,
Qualifications & Experience :
Technical Skills :
- Strong expertise in SAP HCM Payroll (US Payroll) configuration and support.
- In-depth knowledge of BSI Tax Factory and TUFS integration, configuration, and updates.
- Experience with SAP Time Management, schemas, and payroll rules.
- Familiarity with integration of SAP Payroll with third-party systems and other tools.
Functional Skills :
- Comprehensive understanding of US payroll processes, taxation regulations, and compliance.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations, including garnishments, FICA, FUTA, SUTA, etc.
- Experience handling payroll audits, year-end activities (W-2, W-4), and reconciliations.
Professional Experience :
- Minimum 10+ years of hands-on experience in SAP Payroll for US operations.
- Proven experience in managing payroll system upgrades, TUFS updates, and HRSP implementations.
- Exposure to complex payroll environments for large-scale employee bases is a plus.
Soft Skills :
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex payroll issues.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while being proactive and self-motivated.
