Smartworks - Engineering Manager - MEAN/MERN Stack (8-20 yrs)

Our future teammate will :

- Formulating solution/application architecture based on the needs of specific projects while ensuring security, availability, reliability and performance

- Collaborating with other engineering managers and DevOps architects to establish organization-level standards and best practices with regard to application/solution architecture, deployment architecture, design, coding and unit testing and disseminating the same to relevant teams and stakeholders

- Delivering while demonstrating a broad set of technology skills in full-stack technologies, micro-service design patterns, open-source libraries and frameworks, and technology architecture concepts

- Developing framework-level components and services with a view to enable re-use across projects

- Participating in architecture, design and code reviews and ensuring that the deliverables provided by the team adhere to the established standards

- Producing high-level technical designs with attention to functionality, performance, scalability and cost

- Ensuring the application is built in a manner so as to gel well with integration/build automation tools

- Working closely with various stakeholders throughout the delivery stage of a project ensuring the technical specifications are followed while monitoring any potential performance or scalability issues

- Mentoring developers on technology and process aspects relevant to the project at-hand and leading the product development team to help continually refine and improve development processes and standards.

What we are looking for :

- Must have worked on large scale project(s) with demonstrated experience of building and maintaining highly performant consumer facing products based on web technologies

- Proficiency in MEAN/MERN based full-stack development

- Proficiency in designing enterprise applications, object-oriented programming, design patterns, security standards etc.

- Hands-on experience with micro-services implementation/transformation

- Working experience with building single page applications using JavaScript libraries and frameworks like React and proficiency with building responsive web-applications

- Experience with designing database models and database infrastructure for highly scalable products

- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases with a deep understanding of the performance aspects

- Experience with authoring unit and API tests

- Extensive experience in cloud computing platforms like AWS, GCP or Azure

- Working experience with message brokering tools like Kafka, SQS, SNS, RabbitMQ etc.

- Proficiency with containerization, virtualization and orchestration technologies like Docker, Kubernetes etc.
