This role is for a substantial, fast-growing and well respected UK Software Development Firm who has hired us to exclusively recruit for them. It is a permanent Work From Home position and everyday youll be working directly as part of their UK team. It is a senior role with real opportunities to learn and develop.

Location: Permanent Remote Work from Home in India

Minimum Experience: Mid Developer - 3 years

Senior developer- 5 years

Shift Timings: 12pm - 9:30pm (Summer), 1pm - 10:30pm (Winter)

Role and responsibilities

• Development of assigned requirements
• Attend refinement sessions and be an active participant in technical design solutions
• Peer code reviews
• Prepare technical documentation
• Code version control using Bitbucket
• Attend daily standups and weekly project check ins

Essential skills and experience

• Java 4+ years
• Docker, some experience
• Microservices
• AWS or Azure
• Bitbucket
• Some frontend experience
• Good communication
• Experience of working with other remote teams
• Reliability

Desired Experience and Skills

• C#
• Typescript
• SASS, JSP, Handlebars, Vanilla JS (legacy), NodeJS with Express, Python (scripting)
• Cloud Security Best practices for securing cloud applications
• Messaging Systems – Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ
• CI/CD Awareness – Understanding of pipelines; note: CI/CD is managed by Akixi’s Dev team and handed off to a separate DevOps team for deployment
• Good experience designing and deploying cloud-based solutions using AWS (e.g., EC2, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway) and/or Azure (e.g., Azure Functions, App Services, Cosmos DB)
• Strong understanding of microservice architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes is a plus), and cloud-native development best practices
• Experience with cloud security, and best practices for securing applications in cloud environments
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical challenges, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions
• Experience in designing scalable, high-availability systems, ensuring reliability and fault tolerance
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, API design, RESTful services, and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ)
• Ability to mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and ensure best coding practices are followed
