SmartSoc Solutions - Platform Driver Validation Engineer - Hardware Architecture (3-5 yrs)

We are seeking a Platform Driver Validation Engineer to work on post-silicon validation and debugging for cutting-edge hardware platforms. The role requires expertise in Thunderbolt/USB4 validation, debugging complex issues, and proficiency with various hardware protocols and scripting tools.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with platform bring-up and a solid understanding of hardware/software integration.

Required Skills and Expertise :

- Proficiency in Thunderbolt/USB4 validation. Experience in USB3, PCIe, and DisplayPort (DP) validation.

- Familiarity with Type-C, Power Delivery (PD), and Retimer enablement.

- Hands-on experience with Platform/CRB/RVP bring-up processes.

- Ability to read and understand hardware schematics.

- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript for automation and debugging tasks.

- Voyager M4x (USB3/USB4 protocol analysis) Beagle I2C/SPI Protocol Analyzer Saleae Logic Analyzer Strong debugging skills, with experience in : Windbg Crash Analysis Event Logging

- Familiarity with debugging issues at the driver and platform level.

- Basic understanding of : Windows, Linux, or any Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).

- Device Driver Architecture and its interaction with hardware.

Key Responsibilities :

- Conduct post-silicon validation for Thunderbolt/USB4 and other interfaces such as USB3, PCIe, and DP. Validate Type-C, PD, and Retimer functionalities and their enablement.

- Triage and debug issues across hardware and software layers, collaborating with cross-functional teams for resolution.

- Use protocol analyzers and debugging tools to analyze and resolve issues.

- Support CRB/RVP bring-up activities, including schematic reviews and hardware-software integration.

- Develop and maintain scripts using Python or JavaScript for validation and debugging automation.

- Maintain detailed documentation of validation processes, debug activities, and resolution steps.

- Work closely with hardware, firmware, and software teams to address and resolve validation and debugging challenges.

- Provide technical insights to stakeholders on platform readiness and stability.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Proactive and self-driven with a focus on quality and attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

- Experience working with multi-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
