Role Overview:
- The Online Sales Head will be responsible for leading the e-commerce and quick commerce efforts. This role involves managing a team of account managers and operations to ensure seamless account management, business growth, and operational efficiency across all online platforms.
- The ideal candidate will have strong team management skills & a focus on achieving monthly sales targets, ensuring smooth operations & building excellent relationships with online partners, with negotiation & strategy development being secondary to these priorities.
- This position requires flexibility and a willingness to stretch, especially during Add-Revenue-Traffic (ART) days etc.
- The candidate should also be comfortable working on holidays and weekends (if required) to meet business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with SPOCs from e-commerce (Amazon, Flipkart, etc.) and quick commerce platforms (Blinkit, Zepto, etc.).
- Conduct regular discussions with partners to discuss agreements, costs & operational matters.
- Negotiate and expand product portfolios on these platforms, ensuring competitive pricing.
- Resolve escalated operational issues in collaboration with the team and platform partners.
Business Development:
- Identify and onboard new online partners to expand Company's presence.
- Develop strategies for market expansion, set up meetings, and execute growth plans.
Sales Growth:
- Drive online sales growth by achieving monthly sales targets across all platforms.
- Develop promotional strategies and initiatives to boost product visibility and sales.
Operational Excellence:
- Ensure smooth operations, including order fulfillment, inventory coordination, and replication of SKUs across platforms.
- Oversee catalogue and asset creation, ensuring all products are well-represented.
- Monitor and optimize inventory levels to avoid stockouts or overstocking.
- Monitor customer reviews & ratings to assess satisfaction levels & Maintain an average customer rating of 4 stars or above.
Team Leadership;
- Provide guidance, set clear KPIs, and foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Conduct regular team reviews to track progress and address challenges.
Special Sales Events & Flexibility:
- Ensure readiness and execution excellence for special sales days like Prime Day, Independence Day, Republic Day, etc.
- Work closely with platforms to maximize visibility and sales during these events.
- Be prepared to work on holidays and weekends during peak sales periods or to resolve urgent operational issues.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
Experience:
- 6-8 years of experience in e-commerce or quick commerce sales & account management.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing high-performing teams.
- Experience in building partnerships, negotiations and expanding online portfolios.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and drive data-informed decisions.
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple platforms and operational tasks.
