Department Head Production Grinding

Role & responsibilities

• Production Management: Oversee production processes to achieve OEE targets & meet customer requirements, ensuring process adherence and system compliance
• Quality Assurance: Achieve product quality through QMS adherence, data analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Capability Development: Identify skill gaps, provide training, and enhance workforce competencies.
• Discipline: Maintain operational discipline, adherence to SOPs, and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Customer Audits: Address customer concerns and ensure successful completion of customer and other audits .
• QMS Audits: Prepare for and manage QMS audits, ensuring zero non-conformities.
• TPM Implementation: Drive Total Productive Maintenance and 5S practices across production lines.
• Cost Optimization: Reduce scrap, rework, and implement cost-saving projects.
• Customer Delivery: Ensure timely batch completion and SKU production adherence.
• Digital Integration: Lead adoption of digital manufacturing technologies for operational improvements.
• Safety Management: Enforce safety systems and ensure zero accidents.
• Smooth Department Functioning: Ensure seamless coordination within the department to meet objectives and resolve challenges effectively.
• Problem Solving : Problem solving and resolution of issues through collaboration and coordination with different departments within NEI and with outside agencies also e.g customers , suppliers etc..

Preferred candidate profile

• Educational Qualification: B.Tech in Mechanical, Production (specialization in grinding preferred).
• Experience: 12-15 years in a manufacturing setup, with expertise in grinding processes.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of QMS, SPC, SAP, and grinding technology.
• Behavioral Traits: Good communication, decision-making, team-building, and leadership skills.
• Functional Knowledge: Familiarity with TPM, 5S, and digital manufacturing practices.
• Software Proficiency: SAP and basic MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint).
• Industry Expertise: Preferably from the manufacturing or bearings industry.
