S9 aims to increase transparency and reliability in the transportation industry by partnering with thousands of fleet owners and bringing them under one roof with its technology platform and operational expertise.


Job Description:

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Business Development Manager (Sales, Marketing and Operations). The Business Development Manager will be responsible for managing our FTL business in Gujarat, identifying potential clients and business opportunities, developing and implementing sales strategies, building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, negotiating contracts and managing the sales team.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify potential customers, industry trends, and competitors. Analyse market conditions to identify new opportunities and develop strategies to capitalize on them.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to expand S9's market presence. This could involve identifying new markets, segments, or services, and devising plans to penetrate those areas effectively.
  • Customer Acquisition: Identify and acquire new customers, be it individual clients or corporate partners. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to understand their needs and provide suitable transportation solutions.
  • Partnership Development: Forge partnerships with fleet owners, transport companies, and other stakeholders in the logistics ecosystem. Develop mutually beneficial collaborations that enhance S9's service offerings and expand its network.
  • Sales and Revenue Generation: Set sales targets, develop sales strategies, and lead the sales team to achieve revenue goals. Develop pricing strategies that are competitive yet profitable for the company.
  • Negotiation and Deal Closure: Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients and partners. Ensure favorable terms for S9 while maintaining healthy and sustainable relationships.
  • Product Development Input: Gather feedback from customers and industry contacts to provide input for the improvement and development of S9's services. Collaborate with the product development team to enhance offerings based on market demands.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Work closely with the marketing team to devise marketing campaigns and promotional activities that increase brand awareness and attract potential customers.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks in deals or partnerships and develop strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on business development activities, sales metrics, market trends, and other relevant data. Analyse these reports to assess performance and make informed decisions.
  • Adherence to Company Values and Compliance: Ensure that all business development activities align with the company's values, policies, and legal regulations.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5-10 years of experience as a Branch Manager/ Business Development Manager or a similar role.
  • Bachelor/ Master's degree in Business, Management, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in established and reputed companies.
  • Experience in the transportation or logistics industry is preferred
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to meet targets and manage branch operations efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
