Job Description

Job Title: Admission Counselor

Location: Gurugram

Job Type: Full-time


Job Summary:


The Admission Counselor will be responsible for guiding prospective students through the admissions process, from inquiry to enrollment. The role requires excellent communication skills, in-depth knowledge of the institutions offerings, and the ability to assess and advise students based on their academic goals and interests.


Role & responsibilities


  • Counseling and Guidance: Provide personalized advice to prospective students and their families regarding the academic programs, application requirements, and admissions process.
  • Application Review: Assist students in completing their applications, ensuring all required documentation is submitted, and evaluating their academic qualifications.
  • Information Sessions: Host and lead information sessions, webinars, and campus tours for prospective students.
  • Admissions Events: Represent the institution at high school visits, college fairs, and other outreach events.
  • Follow-Up Communication: Maintain regular communication with prospective students, answering questions, providing status updates, and offering support during the decision-making process.
  • Data Entry and Management: Input and maintain accurate records of prospective students in the admissions database, ensuring all inquiries, interactions, and follow-ups are documented.
  • Collaborate with Other Departments: Work with faculty, financial aid, and student services to ensure a smooth admissions process and transition for new students.
  • Enrollment and Conversion: Assist in converting accepted students into enrolled students through effective communication and support.

Qualifications:


  • Education: Bachelors degree in Education, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Previous experience in admissions, counseling, customer service, or higher education is preferred.

Skills:

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM software.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.

Personal Attributes:

  • Detail-oriented and committed to accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of the institutions programs and services.

Additional Information:

The candidate should exhibit a can-do attitude, even in stressful situations, and maintain a positive outlook while dealing with multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Customer-Focused Mindset: A passion for providing excellent service and going the extra mile to ensure prospective students have a smooth and positive experience throughout the admissions process.
