Role & responsibilities

Job Description

Responsible for driving day to day platforms and network planning and operations. This is an operational role that may seek appropriate level of guidance and advice to ensure delivery of quality outcomes.

RespResponsibilities:
Design and implement transmission network configurations based on project requirements and network architecture guidelines.
Perform configuration changes, upgrades, and optimizations to enhance network performance and reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve network issues related to transmission configurations.
Conduct performance analysis and capacity planning to support network expansion and upgrades.
Develop and maintain documentation related to transmission configurations, network diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in transmission technologies and network configurations.
Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.

Requirements:
Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field
5 years of experience in designing and configuring transmission networks, preferably in optical networks.
Proficiency in network protocols such as TCP/IP, MPLS, Ethernet, etc.
Hands-on experience with transmission equipment from vendors such as Ciena, Nortel, Marcony, etc.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, etc., are a plus.
