Job Overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Linux System Administrator with experience in PDK (Platform Development Kit) installation to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate would have a strong background in Linux server management, troubleshooting, and system performance optimization, as well as experience in deploying and configuring PDK environments. Key Responsibilities :

Linux System Administration :

- Administer, configure, and maintain Linux servers (RedHat, RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.).

- Manage user accounts, permissions, and system resources to ensure optimal server performance.

- Ensure system security through proper configuration, patch management, and security updates.

- Monitor and troubleshoot system health, performance, and availability issues.

- Perform regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery operations.

PDK Installation and Configuration :

- Install, configure, and maintain the Platform Development Kit (PDK) across various Linux systems. EDA tools and different Semiconductor Process Technologies.

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PDK installations, configurations, and integrations.

- Assist development teams in using PDK for application and environment configuration.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure PDK environments are deployed and maintained effectively.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization :

- Proactively monitor system performance, logs, and metrics to identify potential issues.

- Implement system optimizations and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.

- Perform capacity planning and ensure that resources are effectively utilized.

Automation and Scripting :

- Develop automation scripts using shell scripting, Python, or other languages to improve system deployment and maintenance processes.

- Implement tools and processes to automate regular administrative tasks.

Collaboration & Documentation :

- Collaborate with Design Engineering, Product Engineering, Back End Operations, Marketing, Sales, and other IT teams to ensure seamless integration between systems.

- Prepare and maintain documentation related to system configurations, installations, and troubleshooting procedures.

- Participate in regular team meetings, offering solutions for system enhancements and improvements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Linux System Administrator in a production environment.

- Strong hands-on experience in PDK installation, setup, and troubleshooting.

- Experience with system monitoring tools (e.g., Cadence, Agilent, Siemens, Ansys, Synopsys, MathWorks, or similar).

- Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS).

- Previous experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, Docker).

- Expertise in shell scripting (Bash, etc.) and experience with automation tools.

- Solid understanding of system security and patch management.

Technical Skills :

- Extensive knowledge of Linux-based operating systems (RedHat, RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).

- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

- Experience with database management (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar) is a plus.

- Understanding of version control systems (Git, SVN).

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and system reliability.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, or CompTIA Linux+.

- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.

- Experience in Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Circle CI.

- Knowledge of cloud-native applications and managing Linux environments in cloud platforms.
