Assistant Manager - Ecommerce Operations

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Ecommerce Operations Manager to work, oversee and manage the daily operations of our e-commerce department. This crucial role ensures the timely, accurate, and efficient processing of returned items, in alignment with company policies, while meeting both customer and operational needs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling the day-to-day ecommerce activities, ensuring smooth order processing, inventory management, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the end-to-end operations of ecommerce platforms, including order processing, fulfilment, and shipment tracking, schedules and address any issues related to delays, damages, or discrepancies.
• Coordinate with suppliers, logistics partners, and internal teams such as customer service and inventory management to ensure timely deliveries, smooth operations and resolve issues.
• Receive and process online orders from the e-commerce platform, monitor inventory levels, update stock availability, and coordinate restocking as needed i.e., correctly picking /keeping the items from the store/warehouse.
• Handle customer queries, complaints, and returns, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Analyse sales reports, identify trends, and suggest improvements to enhance business performance.
• Work closely with the marketing team to implement promotional campaigns and improve online visibility.
• Ensure compliance with ecommerce policies and manage relationships with marketplace platforms.
• Maintain accurate records of all shipments and returns, ensuring compliance with internal processes and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and track shipping-related expenses.
• Identify and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve the overall quality of service in the shipping process.
• Accurately pack orders according to shipping guidelines and generate necessary shipping labels and manifest documents.

Skills & Qualifications:

• 2-4 years of experience in ecommerce operations, and logistics preferably in B2B or B2C sectors.
• Strong knowledge of order management systems, logistics, and inventory control.
• Experience in handling ecommerce marketplaces such as Amazon, Flipkart, Shopify, and other online platforms.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Google Sheets, and ERP tools for reporting and data analysis.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Proven ability to manage relationships with external vendors and partners.
• Good understanding of e-commerce platforms and returns processing.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics Operations, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
• Experience in managing an ecommerce platform, website, shipping and logistics.
• Familiarity with courier and freight management systems.
• Basic understanding of warehousing and inventory management processes.
