Vice President - Legal

Key Responsibilities:

Legal Strategy & Compliance:

• Develop, plan, and execute the companys legal strategy.
• Ensure compliance with existing laws and monitor regulatory changes.
• Stay updated on laws governing urban and rural land development/real estate.

Litigation & Dispute Resolution:

• Oversee and manage all litigation matters effectively.
• Identify, empanel, and coordinate with external legal counsels and consultants.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with recognized external advocates.
• Manage litigation of various types, including Civil, Criminal, and Consumer cases.
• Handle cases in various courts, including the High Court, SEBI, and other legal forums.

Team Leadership & Advisory Support:

• Lead and manage the in-house legal team.
• Provide timely legal support and advice to all departments.
• Conduct legal audits and due diligence for corporate affairs.

Contract Drafting & Vetting:

• Draft and review various contracts, including:
• IT contracts and agreements.
• Vendor contracts and leave & license agreements.
• Property deeds, joint venture agreements, and project-specific contracts.
• Confidentiality contracts and security documents.
• Debt syndication agreements.

Budget & Risk Management:

• Monitor budget utilization for legal matters.
• Analyze budget deviations and implement corrective actions.

Non-Litigation & Business Compliance:

• Ensure legal due diligence and compliance for business operations.
• Provide legal expertise in business transfers, mergers, and infrastructure project lending.
• Negotiate and resolve business issues using legal concepts.

Requirements:

• Experience: at least 20 years of experience in corporate law, litigation management, and real estate laws.
• Legal Expertise: Strong understanding of legal frameworks, compliance, and risk management.
• Leadership: Ability to lead a legal team and coordinate with external counsels.
• Skills: Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
