Job Description
- Oversee Plant Operations: Ensure optimal production efficiency, cost control, and quality management across the entire facility.
- Leadership & Team Management: Lead and mentor large teams in production, maintenance, quality control, and safety departments to achieve operational goals.
- Strategic Planning & Implementation: Develop and execute strategies to improve productivity, process efficiency, and profitability while maintaining safety and environmental standards.
- Budget & Resource Management: Monitor and control plant budgets, costs, and resource utilization to meet financial goals.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to all regulatory and safety standards, promoting a zero-incident safety culture.
- Collaborate with Senior Management: Align plant operations with corporate objectives to drive business growth and meet company targets.
- Process Optimization: Implement best practices, including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, to enhance production management and inventory control.
- Performance Monitoring: Manage plant performance metrics, identify gaps, and initiate corrective measures for consistent, high-quality output.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lead process optimization strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Staff Development: Mentor and develop plant personnel, fostering a positive work culture and encouraging professional growth.
Requirements:
- Experience: 23-30 years in steel manufacturing, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role such as Plant Head or equivalent.
- Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or related fields. Advanced qualifications such as an MBA are a plus.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth understanding of steel production processes, plant operations, safety protocols, and quality control standards.
- Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading large teams and driving high-performance cultures in an industrial setting.
- Strategic Thinker: Ability to develop and implement long-term operational strategies.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make high-stakes decisions.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with senior management, teams, and external stakeholders.
- Process Improvement: Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process optimization methodologies.
