Patient Counsellor

Job Summary:

A Patient Counselor provides guidance and support to patients, helping them understand their treatment options, medical procedures, and emotional well-being. They serve as a bridge between patients and healthcare providers, ensuring that patients receive compassionate care and clear communication about their health journey.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Support & Education: Educate patients about medical procedures, treatment plans, and potential outcomes.
• Emotional & Psychological Support: Offer counseling to help patients cope with stress, anxiety, or emotional distress related to their condition.
• Coordination with Healthcare Providers: Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals to ensure patients receive holistic care.
• Guidance on Financial & Insurance Matters: Assist patients in understanding medical costs, insurance claims, and financial assistance programs.
• Follow-Up & Monitoring: Check on patients after treatment to ensure adherence to medication, therapy, and lifestyle changes.
• Maintain Confidentiality & Records: Document patient interactions and maintain confidentiality as per medical regulations.
• Health & Wellness Programs: Organize wellness workshops, support groups, and awareness campaigns.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Educational Background: Bachelor's or Masters and any graduation
• Experience: [2] years of experience in counseling and sales any kind of counseling must have experience
• Key Skills:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Empathy and active listening
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
• Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality
• Problem-solving and crisis intervention skills
• Familiarity with healthcare regulations and insurance policies

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in patient counseling, mental health support, or medical social work
• Experience working in hospitals, clinics, or healthcare organizations
• Multilingual skills for better patient communication
