Assistant General Manager Legal

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend high-level committee meetings, provide strategic inputs, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
• Keep senior management informed of critical developments and provide timely updates on the status of legal and compliance projects.
• Offer expert legal advice and support in formulating and implementing contracting standards to streamline business operations.
• Advise on complex contracts and procurement projects, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the negotiation, drafting, and review of high-value commercial agreements, including licensing, supply, collaborations, strategic alliances, capital purchases, real estate, and other agreements essential for achieving organizational goals.
• Participate in alliance meetings and M&A proposals, providing strategic legal insights and evaluating risks associated with agreements and contracts.
• Manage relationships with external counsel and legal experts, ensuring efficient and cost-effective legal support.
• Monitor and anticipate changes in the external legal environment, such as FCPA enforcement actions, and implement corrective measures to mitigate risks.
• Drive key compliance initiatives and ensure the organization adheres to regulatory and ethical standards.
• Collaborate with the Global Data Privacy Office to ensure compliance with global data privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR.
• Conduct regular training sessions for key stakeholders on data privacy regulations and monitor adherence to data privacy policies.
• Address potential data breaches and ensure effective consequence management and resolution.
• Monitor legislative developments and court decisions impacting the organization, providing strategic advice and recommending policy and procedural improvements.

Job Specification:

Qualification: LLB/LLM degree from an accredited law school. Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction is mandatory.

Experience: 10-18 years of experience practicing law, with a strong focus on corporate, commercial law, compliance, and data privacy.
