SEPL is a workshop under the SAEL Group, located in Ferozepur, Punjab, specializing in the manufacturing of power plant components.

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and evaluate financial data, combining different data points to calculate profit margins and identify cost-effective solutions.
• Oversee expense reports, assess purchasing costs, and recommend cost-efficient practices.
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date expense database.
• Develop and implement data accumulation systems for cost tracking.
• Conduct cost analysis, including project costs, production costs, fixed costs, and variable costs.
• Ensure accurate reporting of standard and actual costs, identifying discrepancies.
• Prepare budgeting reports for the company and individual departments.
• Analyze and report profit margins to support financial decision-making.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost forecasts.
• Assist in month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
• Identify and recommend cost-saving strategies and process improvements.
• Manage monthly tax compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Handle day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and posting accounting data.
• Coordinate with government institutions, customs, and tax authorities.
• Prepare projected month-wise income, expense, and cash-flow statements.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, or similar role
• Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures preferably SAP
• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience with accounting software
• Computer literacy, MS Excel in particular (familiarity with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)
• Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
• Strong time management skills
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
