We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Category Head for Home Decor to drive the growth and performance of our Home Decor category. As the Category Head, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire categorys performance, including turnover, profitability, inventory management, and overall business strategy. You will lead a cross-functional team to ensure optimal product assortment, availability, and margins to meet business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Category Management: Lead the Home Decor category to achieve targeted growth and profitability by implementing effective category strategies. Manage the product lifecycle, from sourcing to end-of-life management.

Financial Performance: Monitor and improve key financial KPIs including:

Category Turnover: Achieve revenue growth targets through strategic assortment planning, pricing, and promotions.

Profit by Category: Drive profitability across the category by optimizing cost structures and margins.

Margin Management: Ensure that the margin goals are met by analyzing pricing, product mix, and cost management.

GMROI (Gross Margin Return on Investment): Improve GMROI by effectively managing stock levels, product mix, and pricing.

Inventory Management: Drive optimal inventory turnover to ensure efficient working capital usage while maintaining product availability. Monitor and adjust stock levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts.

Product Availability: Ensure consistent product availability through effective supply chain management, forecasting, and coordination with suppliers and internal teams.

Market & Trend Analysis: Stay ahead of industry trends and customer preferences to shape the assortment strategy. Conduct competitor analysis and market research to maintain a competitive edge.

Team Leadership & Collaboration: Lead and mentor a team of category managers and cross-functional teams (e.g., supply chain, merchandising, marketing) to achieve business goals. Foster a collaborative and performance-driven culture.

Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with senior leadership and other departments to align category strategies with the companys broader goals. Report on category performance and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement.

Experience:

• 8-14 years of experience in category management, ideally within retail, e-commerce, or home decor industries.
• Proven experience in driving revenue growth, profitability, and margin improvements across a category.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in managing and optimizing key metrics such as GMROI, category turnover, and profit margins.
• Experience in inventory and supply chain management, including demand forecasting and replenishment.
• Deep understanding of customer needs, market trends, and competitor analysis within the Home Decor sector.
• Leadership skills with a track record of managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with senior leadership.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and deliver results under pressure.
