Purchase Executive

The Purchase Executive plays a crucial role in managing strategic purchasing for the company, ensuring the smooth and efficient procurement of raw materials, spares, cartons, pallets, auxiliary equipment, and other materials required for plant operations. This role involves overseeing the entire procurement process, from vendor management to material scheduling and purchase order execution.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Purchasing:

• Control and manage the procurement of raw materials (RM), spares, cartons, pallets, auxiliary equipment, and materials needed for capital equipment and plant operations.
• Ensure timely procurement for the smooth functioning of the plant.

2. Procurement Execution:

• Place EDI orders for imported Finished Goods (FG) from China & Germany.
• Order raw materials and packaging materials (pallets, angle boards, boxes).
• Negotiate pricing and terms for the purchase of spare parts and new machinery.
• Manage Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs) for equipment such as printers, DG systems, weighing machines, UPS, inverters, chillers, and compressors.

3. SAP Management:

• Create and release purchase orders (PO) in SAP, following the purchasing strategy.
• Update SAP with vendor information, PO details, and materials received (MIGO).
• Reconcile purchase orders with invoices post inward inspection.

4. Vendor and Supplier Management:

• Develop and enroll new vendors in SAP to expand the supplier base.
• Build strong, reliable vendor relationships to ensure quality, timely deliveries, and competitive pricing.
• Develop a vendor assessment strategy for procuring materials.

5. Material Management:

• Monitor and forecast upcoming material demands based on production schedules and inventory levels.
• Maintain records of goods ordered and received, ensuring proper inventory control.

6. Process Improvement:

• Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the purchase process.
• Participate actively in Continuous Improvement Processes (CIP) within the team.

7. Project and New Molds Management:

• Purchase new molds as per the PMIS (Project Management Information System) guidelines released by the Management Team.

8. Operational Safety & Compliance:

• Collaborate with safety specialists and the EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) team to promote occupational safety and compliance with work and environmental protection regulations.

9. Other Responsibilities:

• Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of the workspace.
• Actively participate in team-oriented work and CIP initiatives.
• Maintain high flexibility to meet customer demands.
• Travel as needed to meet with suppliers or customers.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education:
• Diploma in Plastic Processing, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a Master's in Plastic Processing, Production Engineering, or related field.

• Experience & Knowledge:
• Experience in procurement and purchasing, ideally in the manufacturing or plastics industry.
• Basic knowledge of ISO-9001:2015 standards.
• Familiarity with blow molding and injection molding operations and technologies.
• Proficiency in using SAP for procurement processes (creating vendors, PO, MIGO).
• Basic proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
