Position Summary
The role of the Support Engineer, SAP ABAP is to provide exceptional remote-based support for mission-critical SAP applications as part of our global customer support team. The position has the responsibility for researching, troubleshooting, and supporting of multiple SAP modules for our global clients who use both 4.x and ECC environments. The role of the Support Engineer, SAP ABAP requires the expertise and skills to diagnose serious issues; then develop, test, package and deliver fixes for such issues in complex, integrated and highly configured environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for supporting SAP ABAP efficient solutions to the business problems.
- Requirements gathering: They work with business analysts and project managers to understand and evaluate business requirements.
- Technical design: They transform business requirements into technical specifications and designs.
- Development and testing: They develop, code, test, and debug programs.
- Documentation: They create technical documentation and training programs for users.
- Troubleshooting: They troubleshoot technical issues for clients.
- Performance tuning: They perform performance tuning to improve performance.
Skills
- 6-8 years relevant SAP experience particularly with SAP ABAP.
- Develop and maintain SAP design and technical specification documents, and conduct unit, integration and release testing to validate functionality.
- Implement SAP ABAP software applications and interfaces within SAP NetWeaver instances.
- Support end-users Acceptance Testing activities and participate in Production Operations and Release Management support.
- Assist with upgrades, new releases and monitor performance of the technical objects.
- BAPIs, BADIs, RFCs, IDOCs, LSMW, writing user exits, BDC coding, and interfaces.
- SAP ABAP/4 programming using: SAP Script, Idocs, BAPI, RFC.
- Develop and maintain SAP design and technical specification documents; assist in defining and documenting SAP Best Practices.
- Developing core objects like user exists and customer exists.
- Having OOOPs knowledge.
- Code change and code review.
- Develop enhancements.
- Analyze and Fix IDOC, Web Service, RFC Issues.
- Help client in solution.
- Writing technical specifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- The best candidates will have extensive knowledge of multiple SAP modules across releases (4.x ECC) including proficiency with SAP product module/suite business processes, navigation mechanics, configuration requirements, integration with other modules and knowledge of underlying technology.
- A consulting background, while not mandatory, would be useful.
- Experience with localizations and global implementations would be an advantage.
QUALIFICATIONS
Location
- Hyderabad, India
Education
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
Language
- Fluent English is mandatory, any other international languages is a plus.
Work Experience: 5+ years in ABAP.
