Job Description:
Position Overview: We are seeking a versatile and skilled professional to fill the role of Desktop Support Executive and Server Administrator. This position is responsible for providing technical assistance and support for desktop computing environments while also managing and maintaining our organization's server infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both desktop support and server administration, with the ability to effectively manage and troubleshoot IT systems.
Key Responsibilities:

1. Desktop Support:
• Provide technical assistance and support to end-users for desktop hardware, software, and peripherals.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot desktop-related issues, both remotely and on-site, ensuring timely resolution.
• Install, configure, and maintain desktop systems, including operating systems and applications.
• Assist in the setup and configuration of new desktop systems for employees.
2. Server Administration:
• Manage and maintain the organization's server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers.
• Install, configure, and upgrade server operating systems and software.
• Monitor server performance, capacity, and security, implementing measures to ensure optimal operation and uptime.
• Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard critical data and systems.

1. Technical Support:
• Offer guidance and support to end-users on the use of desktop and server systems.
• Respond to and resolve technical issues and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Escalate complex issues to appropriate IT staff members or vendors for resolution.
2. Security and Compliance:
• Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect desktop and server systems from threats and vulnerabilities.
• Ensure compliance with company IT policies, as well as regulatory requirements such as GDPR or HIPAA.
3. Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of desktop and server support activities, including issues resolved, solutions provided, and system configurations.
• Generate reports on desktop and server performance, utilization, and security for management review.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
• Proven experience in desktop support and server administration roles.
• Strong knowledge of desktop operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux, Unix).
• Experience with server virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Requirements:

• Flexibility to work outside regular business hours as needed for server maintenance and support activities.
