Role & responsibilities

1. Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Prepare and maintain financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Ensure compliance with GAAP or local accounting standards.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Assist in the preparation of budget reports and forecasts.

2. Cost Accounting & Inventory Management

• Oversee costing of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods.
• Analyze cost variances (material, labor, and overhead).
• Maintain and improve cost control measures.
• Ensure accurate inventory valuation and conduct periodic stock audits.

3. Taxation & Compliance

• Ensure GST, VAT, TDS, ITR and corporate tax compliance.
• Prepare and submit tax returns and reports.
• Liaise with tax consultants and auditors.

4. Accounts Payable & Receivable Management

• Monitor vendor payments, ensuring timely disbursements.
• Oversee customer collections and credit control.
• Reconcile bank accounts, supplier, and customer ledgers.

5. Internal Controls & Audits

• Implement and maintain internal financial controls.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks.

6. Financial Analysis & Decision Support

• Analyze profitability, margins, and cost reduction opportunities.
• Provide financial insights to support capital expenditure (CAPEX) decisions.
• Assist management in strategic planning and investment decisions.

7. Import & Export Accounting & Compliance

• Manage documentation for import and export transactions (invoices, Bill of Lading, Letter of Credit, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with customs duties, tariffs, and export-import (EXIM) regulations.
• Monitor and record import duty, freight, insurance, and other associated costs.
• Reconcile customs duty payments and ensure correct input tax credit (ITC) claims.
• Handle Letters of Credit (LCs), Bank Guarantees (BGs), and remittances.
• Ensure timely payment of import dues and receipt of export proceeds.
• Work with banks for foreign trade financing and currency exchange rate negotiations.

Preferred candidate profile

We are seeking a highly competent candidate with experience in a senior accounts role within a large manufacturing or exporting organization. The ideal candidate must have led a team of junior accountants and participated in firm audits alongside CAs. Additionally, they should have independent expertise in filing ITR, GST, and TDS returns online. Knowledge of import and export processes is preferred.
