Public Affairs Manager

Role & responsibilities:

• Government Relations Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive government relations strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives. Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and advocate for policies that support the organizations interests.
• Policy Advocacy: Represent the organizations interests in policy discussions, advocating for favorable outcomes with key government stakeholders. Track, analyze, and provide recommendations on proposed legislation and regulations affecting the organization.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with government officials, regulatory bodies, and other relevant stakeholders, including trade associations, industry groups, and think tanks. Engage with federal, state, and local agencies to shape policy decisions that impact the organization.
• Legislative Monitoring & Analysis: Track and analyze relevant legislation, regulations, and government activities. Provide regular updates to senior leadership on key political, regulatory, and legislative developments, highlighting opportunities or risks.
• Advocacy Campaigns: Lead efforts to engage external stakeholders, including elected officials, government agencies, and the public, on key issues through advocacy campaigns. Organize and facilitate meetings, briefings, and hearings as needed to influence policy decisions.
• Internal Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership, legal, public relations, and other teams to ensure alignment on key issues, messaging, and strategies. Provide guidance on government relations matters to internal teams.
• Crisis Management & Issue Advocacy: In times of crisis or regulatory challenge, develop and execute strategies to protect the organizations interests. Navigate politically sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy, ensuring the organizations position is understood and respected.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the organization complies with all relevant lobbying and advocacy laws, including disclosure requirements, lobbying registration, and reporting. Keep senior leadership informed on compliance matters.
• Budget & Reporting: Oversee the budget for government relations activities, including lobbying expenses, events, and memberships in relevant associations. Provide regular reports on government relations initiatives, goals, and outcomes.
