Key Responsibilities :
Oracle Database Development & Administration :
- Design, develop, and maintain complex Oracle database systems, with a focus on OLTP environments.
- Perform regular database administration tasks, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching.
- Implement, manage, and maintain database security, backup, and recovery strategies.
- Write efficient and optimized PL/SQL code for stored procedures, functions, triggers, and packages.
SQL/PLSQL Development & Optimization :
- Develop and optimize PL/SQL procedures, triggers, functions, and packages to meet business requirements.
- Write, review, and optimize complex SQL queries, ensuring the performance and scalability of database operations.
- Perform query tuning, indexing, and database restructuring for performance improvement.
Data Modeling & Design :
- Design and model high-performance databases, focusing on scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
- Work with business analysts and development teams to ensure that the database architecture aligns with business goals.
Cloud Infrastructure & AWS Services :
- Develop and manage cloud-based database systems using AWS services like EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, and Redshift.
- Migrate on-premise Oracle databases to AWS, optimizing performance and cost-efficiency in the cloud.
Database Testing & Automation :
- Implement automated database testing processes using tools like Oracle SQL-Loader, TOAD, and other testing utilities.
- Build and maintain automation scripts for database deployment and data migration.
Performance Tuning & Monitoring :
- Continuously monitor Oracle database performance and optimize critical queries using EXPLAIN PLAN and AWR/ASH reports.
- Use Oracle performance tools (e.g., Oracle Enterprise Manager) to monitor and improve system performance.
Admin and Operational Best Practices :
- Develop, document, and enforce best practices for database design, code development, and database management.
- Ensure compliance with security standards, business continuity, and disaster recovery protocols.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database systems to ensure minimal downtime and efficient operation.
Collaboration & Support :
- Work with cross-functional teams (development, operations, QA) to ensure effective database integration and performance.
- Provide support for database-related issues, including troubleshooting and performance analysis.
Skills & Qualifications :
Experience :
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle database development, administration, and PL/SQL programming.
- Solid experience in writing complex PL/SQL scripts, stored procedures, triggers, and functions for large-scale applications.
- Proven experience with Oracle performance tuning and optimization, especially for high-transaction OLTP systems.
- Experience working with cloud-based databases and AWS services (e.g., EC2, RDS, S3, DocumentDB, Lambda, DynamoDB, Redshift).
Technical Skills :
- Strong expertise in PL/SQL for developing stored procedures, functions, and packages.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL query optimization and Oracle database performance tuning techniques.
- Experience in Oracle database backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions.
- Familiarity with cloud environments, specifically AWS database services.
Additional Skills :
- Experience with database automation and integration in CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of database security, encryption, and auditing.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide practical solutions.
- Experience in data migration from on-premise to cloud environments.
Communication & Collaboration :
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to document processes and collaborate across teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and handle multiple priorities.
Education & Certifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) in Oracle Database Administration or Development.
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Database Specialty) are desirable.
