Wowoni - Oracle Database Administrator (5-7 yrs)

Job Description :

Key Responsibilities :

- Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle Database software across various platforms (Linux, Windows).

- Manage database users, roles, and privileges.

- Create and manage database objects (tables, indexes, views, procedures, etc.)

- Implement and maintain database security measures, including user authentication, authorization, and data encryption.

- Monitor database performance and identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.

- Tune SQL queries and PL/SQL code for optimal performance.

- Install, configure, and manage Oracle RAC environments.

- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery for Oracle databases.

- Manage RAC resources and perform failover and switchover operations.

- Implement and maintain Oracle Data Guard configurations, including physical and logical standby databases.

- Manage data guard switchover and failover procedures.

- Develop and implement robust backup and recovery strategies using RMAN.

- Perform regular database backups and ensure data integrity.

- Restore databases from backups as needed.

- Plan and execute Oracle database migrations (platform migrations, upgrades, data transfers).

- Experience with Oracle Cross Platform Migration Techniques, Data Pump.

- Analyze database performance using tools like AWR, Statspack, and OEM.

- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.

- Tune SQL queries and PL/SQL code for optimal performance.

- Provide technical support to application developers and other IT teams.

- Collaborate with application teams to optimize database performance for their applications.

- Participate in on-call support rotations to ensure 24/7 database availability.

Qualifications & Experience :

Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience : 5+ years of hands-on experience administering Oracle databases in a production environment.

Skills :

Essential :

- Strong understanding of Oracle Database architecture and internals.

- Expertise in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.

- Experience with Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters).

- Experience with Oracle Data Guard.

- Experience with RMAN for backup and recovery.

- Experience with Oracle Database upgrades and patching.

- Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable :

- Experience with Oracle GoldenGate.

- Experience with scripting languages (Python, Perl, Shell).

- Experience with cloud-based databases (Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS).

- Oracle certifications (OCA, OCP).

- Experience with DB2.

- Experience with Data Migration projects
