Job Description
- Oversee the daily operations of the steel melt shop to ensure efficient production of high-quality steel.
- Develop and implement production schedules and ensure adherence to them.
- Implement and maintain stringent quality control measures to ensure the production of high-grade steel.
- Conduct regular inspections and tests to verify the quality of the output.
- Address and resolve any quality issues promptly to prevent production disruptions.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, supervisors, and operators.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure the regular maintenance and upkeep of melt shop equipment and facilities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team to develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
- Promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Bachelor s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in steel melt shop operations, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- In-depth knowledge of steelmaking processes.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in using production management software and tools.
- Strong understanding of safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
