AREAS OFRESPONSIBILITY
Participatesin the development and implementation of business strategies for the hotelwhich are aligned with Radisson s overall mission, vision values and strategies
Develops andimplements strategies for achieving department goals
Monitorsstatus regularly and adjusts strategies and programs as appropriate
Directs theoperation of the Engineering Department
Develops planfor completing routine maintenance and renovations; coordinates work with hoteldepartment managers
Identifies andselects vendors as appropriate
Creates a safeenvironment for guests and employees by ensuring that the hotel is maintainedin accordance with safety standards
Serves asproject manager for hotel renovations; coordinates project status withcorporate technical services, architects, licensing agencies, contractors andhotel management
Evaluatesforecasted business and projects and schedules staff accordingly
Ensures hoteladheres to all regulatory and safety standards by meeting with government andinsurance inspectors and taking corrective actions as needed
Keeps allmechanical, electrical and structural blueprints up to date
Ensures thatstaff is up to date on certifications and training necessary to maintainoperating systems
Preparesengineering budget; monitors actual versus budgeted expenses and takescorrective actions when necessary
Develops andimplements strategies and practices which support employee engagement
Providesemployees with the orientation and training needed to understand expectations andperform job responsibilities
Communicatesperformance expectations and provides employees with on-going feedback
Providesemployees with coaching and counseling as needed to achieve performanceobjectives and reach their fullest potential
Adheres tohotel policies and procedures
Attends workon time and as scheduled
Follows hotelgrooming, hygiene and dress standards
Minimisesafety hazards by following all safety rules and procedures
Refrain frompersonal conversations with other staff at the main entrance
Keepsimmediate manager promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusualmatters of significance
Performs allduties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance withestablished company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectivesof this position
Maintains afavourable working relationship with all other company employees to foster andpromote co-operative and harmonious working climate

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of7 to 12 years work experience in the hotel industry in Engineering
Minimum one -two years supervisory experience preferred
Bachelor s degreepreferred
Able to resolveconflicts guests, supervisor and employee
Able tocollaborate effectively with other hotel employees and managers to ensureteamwork
Advanceknowledge of building management and engineering
Excellentorganizational skills
Generalunderstanding of insurance requirements
Good oral andwritten communication skills
Experienceworking in a union environment
Workingknowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration and life safetyoperating systems
