The Business HR Head will serve as a key strategic partner to the leadership team, driving HR initiatives that support business goals, promote innovation, and ensure talent management aligns with the company's objectives. The role requires a deep understanding of the Indian tech landscape and a focus on building a high-performance culture in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic HR Leadership:
- Collaborate closely with the leadership team to create HR strategies that align with business goals, particularly in the software development sector.
-Drive organizational design and workforce planning to ensure the company attracts, develops, and retains top-tier tech talent in India.
-Provide leadership on HR strategic initiatives, including talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, and leadership development.
2. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning:
- Lead the recruitment process to attract high-quality software engineers, developers, and other tech professionals. Ensure the recruitment process reflects the specific needs of the software development industry.
- Build and maintain relationships with technical universities, coding boot camps, and talent communities to source the best candidates in India.
- Partner with business leaders to forecast workforce needs and create proactive talent acquisition strategies that meet those needs.
3. Employee Development & Learning:
- Develop training programs focused on enhancing technical skills, including software engineering practices, emerging technologies, and Agile methodologies.
- Ensure that employees have access to continuous learning opportunities to stay competitive in a fast-evolving industry.
- Implement leadership development programs to ensure a strong pipeline of future leaders within the organization.
4. Performance Management & Employee Engagement:
- Oversee the implementation of a performance management system that drives a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Lead employee engagement initiatives tailored to software engineers and other technical employees, ensuring high morale and retention.
- Use employee feedback and data to drive improvements in work culture and employee satisfaction.
5. Culture and Change Management:
- Champion a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning, particularly in an agile and tech-driven environment.
- Lead organizational change initiatives, supporting the company through growth or structural changes, while ensuring minimal disruption to productivity and morale.
6. Compensation & Benefits:
- Ensure that compensation and benefits packages are competitive within the Indian technology sector, including salary, bonuses, stock options, and other relevant benefits for tech talent.
- Stay informed about compensation trends in the Indian tech market to ensure the company remains attractive to high-performing engineers and developers.
7. Organizational Design & Development:
- Partner with leadership to design an organizational structure that supports business growth and ensures the company has the right teams and roles in place.
- Implement frameworks for cross-functional collaboration between engineering, product, marketing, and sales teams.
8. HR Technology & Analytics:
- Leverage HR technology and data analytics to streamline processes and optimize HR functions such as recruitment, performance management, and talent retention.
- Use insights derived from HR data to inform decision-making and improve overall HR strategies.
9. Employee Relations & Compliance:
- Manage employee relations to ensure a healthy and productive work environment.
- Stay updated on labor laws, employment regulations, and compliance requirements specific to India (e.g., Industrial Disputes Act, Shops and Establishments Act, and other relevant statutes).
- Ensure compliance with all legal requirements related to employee rights and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) would be an advantage.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HR leadership role within a software development or tech company.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of HR practices, specifically in the technology sector and understanding of the tech talent landscape in India.
- Strong understanding of software development processes, Agile methodologies, and the unique HR challenges within tech teams.
- Familiarity with Indian labor laws and employment practices.
- Proficiency in HR technology tools, HRIS, and performance management software.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical teams and leadership.
