Position : Project Manager, Data Center Project

Job Purpose :
- The Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Data Center Project. This role involves budget planning, project planning and scheduling, resources mobilization, risk management, and coordination with various stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Role Description:
Key Responsibilities:
Budget & Financial Management:
- Formulate the annual project budget plan and ensure execution within budget.
- Review project budget against actual expenditures on a monthly basis based on ACE to track deviations.
- Draft and submit project budget proposals, recommending necessary adjustments.
- Implement cost control measures to minimize rework and optimize labor costs.
Project Execution & Planning:
- Ensure project execution aligns with timelines and milestones while managing site overheads.
- Determine necessary resources (manpower, equipment, materials) within budget constraints.
- Develop and implement cost-effective strategies for efficient project completion.
- Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to meet deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with all necessary permits and legal requirements before project commencement.
Stakeholder Coordination & Negotiation:
- Engage with third parties, engineers, and engineering and design team, architects to review and report project progress.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors to achieve cost-effective agreements.
- Foster relationships with new subcontractors while ensuring the retention of existing workmen.
Risk & Digital Innovation Management:
- Identify and mitigate project risks and delays proactively.
- Drive digital adoption within project teams to enhance efficiency and reduce costs or execution time.
- Conceptualize and implement digital initiatives to improve operational agility.
Quality & Safety Compliance:
- Monitor project progress to ensure quality control.
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and develop contingency plans.
- Ensure full adherence to health and safety standards and report any compliance issues.
- Supervise site teams, including laborers and mechanics, providing necessary guidance and support.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirement documentation, and presentations.
- Acquire necessary equipment and materials while monitoring stock levels to prevent shortages.
- Track and analyze team productivity, implementing corrective actions where required.
Experience & Educational Requirements:
Qualifications and Experience:
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (degree, training, or certification required).
- Bachelor's in Engineering (Civil or Equivalent) (Mandatory).
- Certification such as PMI certification, Contract Administration etc. preferred.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:
- About 20 Years of relevant experience
- Proven experience managing EPC projects of commercial buildings with MEP Scope, preferably within data center construction.
- Strong financial acumen and experience in project budgeting and cost control.
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of digital project management tools and best practices for risk mitigation.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations within the construction industry.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under tight deadlines.
