VBA Developer - SQL/Teradata (3-7 yrs)

Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled VBA Developer to join our growing team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in VBA development within Microsoft Excel, with experience in automating tasks, creating macros, and integrating with databases.

This role requires excellent communication skills as you will be interacting directly with clients to understand their needs and deliver effective solutions.

Responsibilities :

- Develop and maintain complex VBA macros and applications within Microsoft Excel to automate data processing, reporting, and other business tasks.

- Design and implement user-friendly interfaces and tools within Excel using VBA.

- Write efficient, well-documented, and maintainable code.

- Collaborate with business users and clients to gather requirements, understand their needs, and translate them into technical specifications.

- Communicate effectively with clients via email and phone, independently managing tasks and projects.

- Perform data analysis and manipulation using Excel, VBA, and SQL.

- Integrate Excel applications with databases (e.g, SQL Server, MySQL, Teradata, MS Access).

- Utilize data visualization tools (mention specific tools if applicable) to present data effectively.

- Troubleshoot and debug existing VBA code.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest VBA and Excel features and best practices.

- Contribute to the development and improvement of internal processes and tools.

- Potentially work with Alteryx for data blending and automation (if required).

Required Skills :

Advanced Excel Skills :

- Proficient in using advanced Excel features, including formulas, functions, pivot tables, charts, and data analysis tools.

Intermediate VBA Macro Development :

- Solid understanding of VBA programming concepts, including object-oriented programming principles, error handling, and debugging.

- Ability to create and modify complex macros.

Basic SQL :

- Knowledge of SQL queries for data retrieval, manipulation, and analysis.

- Experience with database interaction within VBA.

Basic MS Access :

- Familiarity with MS Access database concepts and the ability to connect to and interact with Access databases using VBA.

Alteryx (Preferred) :

- Experience with Alteryx for data blending, transformation, and automation is a plus.

Data Visualization Skills :

- Experience with any data visualization tool (e.g , Power BI, Tableau, Excel Charts) is desirable.

Excellent Communication Skills (Oral & Written) :

- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Must be comfortable interacting with clients.

Problem-Solving Skills :

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues.

Attention to Detail :

- Meticulous approach to coding and testing to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Ability to Work Independently :

- Capable of managing tasks and projects independently and meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (BCA, MCA), Engineering (BE, B.Tech), or a related field.

- Experience working in a client-facing role.

- Familiarity with other scripting languages (e.g, Python) is a plus.

- Experience with version control systems (e.g, Git) is a plus
