Senior Performance Test Engineer - JMeter/LoadRunner (5-7 yrs)

Responsibilities :

Performance Test Planning and Strategy :

- Develop comprehensive performance test plans and strategies based on system requirements and business objectives.

- Define performance test scenarios, workloads, and acceptance criteria.

- Identify and select appropriate performance testing tools and technologies.

Test Script Development and Execution :

- Design and develop robust performance test scripts using industry-standard tools.

- Execute performance tests, including load, stress, endurance, and scalability tests.

- Monitor system performance during testing and identify performance bottlenecks.

Performance Analysis and Reporting :

- Analyze performance test results and identify root causes of performance issues.

- Generate detailed performance test reports, including recommendations for performance improvements.

- Present performance test results to stakeholders and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues.

Performance Monitoring and Tuning :

- Implement performance monitoring tools and techniques to track system performance in production environments.

- Provide recommendations for system tuning and optimization.

- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to implement performance improvements.

CI/CD Integration :

- Integrate performance testing into the CI/CD pipeline to enable continuous performance testing.

- Automate performance test execution and reporting.

Staying Current :

- Continuously research and implement new and effective testing processes.

Technical Skills :

Performance Testing Tools :

- Proficiency in performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, or similar.

- Experience with performance monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, AppDynamics, or New Relic.

Programming/Scripting :

- Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.

- Ability to create custom scripts for complex test scenarios.

Operating Systems :

- Solid understanding of operating systems (Linux, Windows) and system administration.

Networking :

- Understanding of networking protocols and concepts.

Databases :

- Experience with database performance testing and optimization (SQL, NoSQL).

Cloud Platforms :

- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-based performance testing.

CI/CD :

- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, etc.) and integrating performance tests into pipelines.

Performance Analysis :

- Strong analytical skills to interpret performance data and identify bottlenecks.

Containerization :

- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- 5-7 years of experience in performance testing.

- Proven experience in designing and executing performance tests for complex systems.

- Strong understanding of performance testing methodologies and best practices.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Relevant certifications in performance testing.

- Experience in testing embedded systems.
