Staff Engineer - Core Infrastructure (9-14 yrs)

Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically adept Staff Engineer to drive the design, development, and maintenance of our core infrastructure. In this role, you will be a technical leader, responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our critical infrastructure systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities :

Infrastructure Architecture and Design :

- Define and maintain the overall architecture of our core infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.

- Design and implement infrastructure solutions that meet business requirements and technical specifications.

- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance infrastructure capabilities.

Systems Engineering and Automation :

- Lead the implementation and maintenance of critical infrastructure systems, including servers, networks, storage, and virtualization platforms.

- Develop and implement automation strategies to streamline infrastructure operations and improve efficiency.

- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployments.

Performance Optimization and Troubleshooting :

- Monitor infrastructure performance and identify bottlenecks.

- Develop and implement strategies for performance optimization and capacity planning.

- Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex infrastructure issues.

Security and Compliance :

- Ensure infrastructure systems adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements.

- Design and implement security measures to protect critical infrastructure assets.

- Conduct security assessments and vulnerability analysis.

Technical Leadership and Mentorship :

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to infrastructure engineering teams.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical roadmaps and priorities.

- Participate in architectural reviews and design discussions.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing :

- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure systems and processes.

- Share knowledge and best practices with infrastructure engineering teams.

- Stay up to date with new and emerging technologies.

Technical Skills :

Operating Systems :

- Expertise in Linux (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat) and Windows Server operating systems.

Cloud Platforms :

- Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their infrastructure services.

- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).

Containerization and Orchestration :

- Proficiency in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

- Experience with container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm).

Networking :

- Strong understanding of networking protocols and concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching).

- Experience with network security and firewalls.

Automation and Scripting :

- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).

- Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).

Monitoring and Logging :

- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).

Storage Systems :

- Understanding of storage systems and protocols (SAN, NAS, object storage).

CI/CD :

- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Gitlab CI/CD, etc.)

Security :

- Strong understanding of security best practices.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- 9-14 years of experience in infrastructure engineering.

- Proven experience in designing and implementing complex infrastructure solutions.

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
