GCP DevOps Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure (11-16 yrs)

Job Description :

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic GCP DevOps Engineer to lead our cloud infrastructure and automation initiatives. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure cloud solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will leverage your deep expertise in DevOps practices and GCP services to optimize our development and deployment pipelines, ensuring high availability and performance of our applications.

Responsibilities :

GCP Infrastructure Architecture & Design :

-Design and implement robust and scalable GCP infrastructure solutions, including VPCs, subnets, firewalls, load balancers, and network peering.

- Architect and manage containerized environments using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).

- Design and implement serverless architectures using Cloud Functions and Cloud Run.

- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform or Deployment Manager.

Automation & CI/CD Pipelines :

- Design and implement automated CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.

- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployments.

- Implement and manage container orchestration and deployment strategies.

- Develop and maintain scripting for automation tasks (Python, Bash, etc.).

Monitoring & Logging :

- Implement comprehensive monitoring and logging solutions using Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and Stackdriver.

- Develop and maintain alerting and incident response procedures.

- Analyze logs and metrics to identify and resolve performance and security issues.

Security & Compliance :

- Implement and maintain security best practices on GCP, including IAM, VPC Service Controls, and Cloud Armor.

- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., PCI DSS, HIPAA).

- Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments.

Performance Optimization & Troubleshooting :

- Optimize GCP resources for performance, cost, and reliability.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and application issues.

- Conduct performance testing and capacity planning.

Collaboration & Communication :

- Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure smooth and efficient deployments.

- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

- Document infrastructure and deployment procedures.

- Act as a technical lead on projects, and provide direction to other engineers.

Technical Skills :

Google Cloud Platform (GCP) :

- Deep understanding of core GCP services, including Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Cloud Build, Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and IAM.

- Expertise in deploying and managing applications on GKE.

- Experience with GCP networking and security services.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) :

- Proficiency in Terraform or Deployment Manager.

- Experience with version control systems (Git).

Containerization & Orchestration :

- Expertise in Docker and Kubernetes.

- Experience with container registry services (e.g., Google Container Registry, Artifact Registry).

CI/CD Tools :

- Experience with Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools.

- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.).

Monitoring & Logging :

- Experience with Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar tools.

Scripting & Automation :

- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or other relevant languages.

Operating Systems :

- Proficiency in Linux system administration.

Networking :

- Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, etc.).

Security :

- Strong understanding of security best practices, and security tools.

Qualifications :

- Experience : 11-16 years of experience in DevOps engineering, with a focus on GCP.

- Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Certifications : Google Cloud Certified Professional DevOps Engineer or similar certifications are highly desirable.
