Sr. Engineer IT Network Security

Roles Responsibilities

The Senior Engineer - IT Network and Security plays a critical role in PTCs IT department, focusing on the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust IT network infrastructures while ensuring the highest levels of security and compliance. This position demands expertise in network architecture, cybersecurity protocols, IT infrastructure management, and regulatory compliance, including ISO 27001 standards and data protection laws.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design, implement, and manage robust IT network infrastructures, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.

2. Develop and manage anti-virus solutions to safeguard network and server security.

3. Implement and monitor security protocols for LAN/WAN networks to ensure secure and efficient operations.

4. Administer and troubleshoot Virtual Area Networks (VAN) for seamless connectivity.

5. Manage and optimize firewall configurations to protect internet access and corporate data.

6. Oversee network performance monitoring tools to proactively identify and address bottlenecks.

7. Configure, deploy, and maintain servers and network devices, addressing troubleshooting needs proactively.

8. Plan and execute network capacity planning and upgrades to ensure alignment with business needs.

9. Collaborate with vendors for procurement, configuration, and deployment of network infrastructure equipment.

10. Conduct periodic audits of network infrastructure to ensure compliance with security and operational standards.

11. Oversee data backup and restoration processes using Network Attached Storage (NAS).

12. Implement and maintain IT controls aligned with ISO 27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS) requirements.

13. Conduct Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) to identify and mitigate security risks.

14. Provide technical support for users of enterprise software and specialized applications.

15. Address and resolve minor software issues in robotic arms and CNC machines.

16. Supervise hardware maintenance, repairs, and lifecycle management.

17. Maintain a thorough understanding of data compliance regulations, including GDPR, and other relevant standards.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education and Certifications

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Certifications such as CISA, CCNP, CEH, CISSP, or similar are highly desirable.

Experience

• 3 6 years of experience as a Network Engineer, Security Engineer, or similar role, with a focus on IT infrastructure and cybersecurity.
• Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and security appliances.
• Proven expertise in VAPT tools and methodologies.
• Familiarity with network protocols (e.g., MPLS, QoS, WAN) and monitoring tools.
• Strong understanding of ISO 27001 ISMS frameworks, implementation, and audits.
• Experience with regulatory requirements and industry standards for IT security and data protection.

Technical and Functional Competencies

• Deep knowledge of cybersecurity principles, standards, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for both network and application layers.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
• Proficiency in project management and independent task execution.
• Expertise in data compliance and privacy standards, including audits and risk assessments.
