Blackline Specialist - Project Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Blackline Specialist to lead a critical project assessing the utilisation of the Blackline platform across our organisation. This role involves evaluating the efficiency, effectiveness, and adoption of Blackline, identifying areas for improvement, and providing actionable recommendations. The successful candidate will work closely with finance, IT, and other business stakeholders to ensure that the platform is leveraged to its fullest potential.

Key Responsibilities -

1. Project Management:
• Plan, manage, and execute the Blackline utilisation assessment project within agreed timelines and budgets.
• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in alignment with organisational goals.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to establish success metrics for Blackline utilisation.

2. Blackline Platform Analysis:

• Conduct a comprehensive review of current Blackline usage across all business units and departments.
• Evaluate the alignment of Blackline features with organisational financial processes, including reconciliation, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Identify gaps, inefficiencies, or underutilised functionalities in the platform
• Identify the best possible ways of integrating BL with S4 Hana

3. SAP Integration with Blackline: Experience with integrating BL with SAP / S4hana

• Able to identify requirements and challenges for integrating BL with S4Hana
• Experience with implementation of BL with S4 HAna / SAP ERP

4. Stakeholder Engagement:

• Work closely with finance, accounting, and IT teams to understand workflows, pain points, and requirements.
• Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders, ensuring alignment on proposed improvements.

5. Recommendations and Roadmap Development:

• Provide data-driven insights and develop a roadmap to optimise Blackline adoption and utilisation.
• Identify training needs and propose tailored programs to enhance user proficiency with the platform.
• Suggest process improvements, integrations, and automation opportunities within Blackline.

6. Reporting and Documentation:

• Prepare and present detailed reports on findings, recommendations, and implementation plans.
• Document current and future workflows, highlighting key changes and anticipated benefits.

7. Implementation Support :

• Assist in the implementation of proposed changes to Blackline processes and configurations, if required.
• Monitor and measure the impact of improvements post-implementation.

Qualifications and Experience -

• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience:
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with the Blackline platform, including setup, configuration, and optimisation.
• Proven track record of leading or contributing to platform utilisation assessments or optimisation projects.
• Strong understanding of finance and accounting processes, including reconciliations, close processes, and financial reporting.
• Skills:
• Proficiency in Blackline modules, including Account Reconciliations, Task Management, Journal Entries, and Matching.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
• Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Experience with data analysis tools and financial systems integrations is a plus.
