- Operational Management:
- Oversee daily machining operations, ensuring alignment with production schedules and meeting quality and efficiency standards.
- Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Manage machine shop equipment, tools, and resources effectively to meet production goals.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all products meet or exceed quality standards, conducting regular inspections and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Work closely with the quality team to improve processes, reduce defects, and address quality issues.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage a team of supervisors, machinists, and technicians, ensuring proper training, motivation, and development.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Process Improvement:
- Drive Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to optimize machining processes, reduce waste, and increase overall efficiency.
- Analyze workflow, implement process improvements, and stay updated on industry best practices.
- Cost Control and Budgeting:
- Develop and manage the machining department budget, monitoring expenses to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings through process enhancements and waste reduction.
- Maintenance and Safety:
- Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure proper upkeep and preventive maintenance of equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, conducting regular safety audits and fostering a safety-first culture.
- Technical Support:
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support on machining issues, including CNC programming and machine optimization.
- Stay abreast of advancements in machining technologies and techniques.
