Job Description
- The VMC Machining Setter is responsible for setting up and operating Vertical Machining Centers to produce parts that meet quality standards and specifications.
This role requires a solid understanding of CNC programming, tooling, and machine setup, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and make adjustments to ensure efficient production.
Requirements - Setup and Operation : Prepare and set up VMC machines according to job specifications, including installing and aligning fixtures, tools, and workpieces.
- Tool Management : Select, install, and calibrate the appropriate tools and offsets for the job requirements.
- Programming : Load and verify CNC programs, making adjustments to optimize performance and maintain high-quality standards.
- Troubleshooting : Identify and resolve issues related to machine operations, including tool wear, fixture setup, and workpiece alignment.
- Quality Control : Inspect parts during production to ensure adherence to specifications using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring instruments.
- Documentation : Maintain accurate production records, including setup sheets, inspection reports, and job tracking.
- Maintenance : Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs, and report major issues to the maintenance team.
- Safety Compliance : Follow all safety protocols and ensure a clean and organized work area.
