Safety & Health:

• Conduct safety, and health hazard assessments, define problems, prioritize and rank exposures as tolerable or non-tolerable risk and develop recommendations for appropriate controls and compliance.
• Investigation of all accidents and incidents occurred, collects data, establish facts and draw the valid conclusions & take corrective & preventive action for non-recurrence of same.
• Develop the Safety Leader in all department & provide technical and strategic assistance for promoting education to shop- floor EHS leaders.
• Maintains and drives the safety management plan.
• Organize and facilitate group safety meetings on shop floor & conduct monthly Jt. safety committee meeting.
• Co-ordination of EHS circle & small group activity for enhancing the safety culture in plant.
• Ensure purchasing of good quality PPEs & safety equipment for maintaining safe work environment.
• Conduct daily the EHS inspection to monitor the safe working environment in plant order.
• Effectively implementation of the work permits system for various routine & non-routine activities in plant and monitoring the effectiveness of the same.
• To conduct periodic internal audits, and closing audit NC.
• Prepare HIRA, aspect impact registers SOP & legal register.
• Prepare weekly & monthly environment, health & safety MIS reports.

Environment:

• Ensured the operation & maintenance of Water Pollution Control, Air Pollution Control Equipments / plants with performance to fulfill the all State Pollution Control Board requirement.
• Monitoring of environmental releases like stack emission, ambient air quality monitoring & noise level, waste water analysis, hazardous waste analysis & drinking water analysis.

Fire Fighting & Emergency Preparedness:

• Ensure operations, maintenance & periodic testing of all portable fire extinguishers & fire hydrant systems
• Prepare Emergency Response Plan and conduct mock drills in the plant on periodic basis.
• Fire & safety audit.

Legal & Statutory:

• Ensure compliance with all applicable environments, health & safety rules & regulations.
• Ensure the all environment, health & safety related statutory returns filing within the time bound period e.g. Environmental Statement, Annual hazardous waste return, Half yearly battery return, Monthly Water Cess & Electrical returns etc.
• Coordination of all EHS related statutory inspections like lifting tools & tackles, pressure vessels etc.

Training:

• Conduct suitable EHS training programs for staff, permanent & contract workers. Ensure Tool box talk.
• Conduct training on fire fighting, emergency preparedness.

EHS Promotional activities:

• Organize celebration of National Safety Week, National Road Safety Day, National Fire Week and World Environment Day for employees, school students & employees families for creating awareness on safety and environment protection.
