Job Description

Job Summary:

This role is responsible for overseeing the entire performance management process within the organization, ensuring that performance metrics are aligned with company objectives and driving a high-performance culture. This role involves managing goal-setting, Key Result Areas (KRAs), and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), as well as implementing and maintaining the Performance Management System (PMS). Additionally, the PMS Lead will implement a competency matrix, identify critical competencies, and promote continuous employee development through structured performance evaluation processes.


Key Responsibilities:


Performance Management System (PMS)

  • Lead the full lifecycle of the Performance Management System, from design and implementation to continuous monitoring and improvement.
  • Ensure alignment between company goals and individual performance objectives by managing goal-setting, KRA, and KPI development for all employees.
  • Implement and maintain the PMS platform/software to ensure efficient performance reviews, feedback mechanisms, and appraisal processes.
  • Ensure the PMS is consistently applied across departments, promoting fairness and transparency in performance evaluations.

Goal Setting & KRA/KPI Development:

  • Work closely with department heads to define and set measurable goals, KRAs, and KPIs for their teams, aligned with the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees in setting clear, achievable, and relevant goals that contribute to business success.
  • Ensure that performance metrics are effectively communicated and understood across the company.

Competency Management:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive competency matrix that aligns with the company's core values and strategic goals.
  • Identify key competencies (Functional, Behavioural & Leadership) required for different roles and levels within the organization and integrate them into the performance management framework.
  • Regularly assess and update the competency matrix to reflect the evolving needs of the business and market trends.

Drive Performance-Based Culture:

  • Foster a culture of high performance by ensuring that performance metrics and evaluations are linked to employee development, rewards, and recognition.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop initiatives that promote performance improvement, employee engagement, and accountability.
  • Implement performance improvement plans for underperforming employees and provide ongoing coaching and support to managers in addressing performance issues.

PMS Implementation and Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead the deployment of performance management systems (software or tools) to streamline the performance review process and enhance data accuracy.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret performance data to identify trends and insights that can drive decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct training and workshops for employees and managers to ensure they are proficient in using the PMS and understand the evaluation criteria.

Performance Reviews and Feedback:

  • Oversee the execution of regular performance reviews, ensuring consistency in feedback delivery and appraisal outcomes.
  • Ensure a structured, timely, and transparent feedback process that encourages employee growth and development.
  • Collaborate with managers to create action plans for employees based on performance reviews and follow up on their progress.
