Job Description
As Pratham continues to grow and have a significant impact on learning outcomes in India, the organization is looking to hire a Senior Associate Content for the Communications team. This individual will be responsible for working with a team in creating, organizing and managing content in line with the overall communications strategy. This individual will help ensure that all content requirements from the communications team are delivered in a timely and seamless manner and reflect unified and consistent messages across all of its key constituencies: donors, partners, media, internal team members and employees, volunteers, government representatives, community leaders, etc.
Writing, Copyediting/ Proofreading
- Develop original and engaging content for various channels, including website, social media, email newsletters, press releases, and program documentation.
- Craft compelling narratives that convey the organization s mission, vision, and values, while effectively communicating complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
- Coverage of field projects by writing and editing reports/blogs; taking pictures and making photo blogs; conceptualising, scripting, shooting and editing short videos
Editorial Planning:
- Collaborate with the communications team to plan and execute an effective content calendar aligned with organizational objectives and key events.
- Ensure a consistent brand voice and messaging across all communication channels.
Storytelling and Impact:
- Identify and gather compelling stories and testimonials from beneficiaries, volunteers, and donors to showcase the impact of our organization s work.
- Create powerful stories that resonate with our audience and inspire them to take action and support our cause.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure content is aligned with overall communication strategies.
- Collaborate with graphic designers, videographers, and other content creators to develop multimedia content.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor s degree in Journalism, Social Studies, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of work experience as a Content Specialist or similar role, preferably in the non-profit sector.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to create engaging content that drives conversation and action.
- Demonstrated understanding of various social media platforms, their unique audiences, and best practices for each.
- Creative mindset and experience in visual content creation using tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Mailchimp, Photoshop or similar software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- A genuine passion for the non-profit sector and a commitment to making a positive impact on the community and the world.
- Strong understanding of various communication channels and how to tailor content for different audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines while maintaining the highest level of quality.
- Have the ability and willingness to travel as required. We believe a key component of communicating about Pratham s work is forming a direct connection with our programs through on-ground visits. An ideal candidate would be willing and able to travel frequently across the country to visit our local programs.
