US Finance Executive

Role & responsibilities

General Accounting & Bookkeeping:

• Assist in the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly financial transactions (e.g., accounts payable/receivable, journal entries, reconciliations).
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes by ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
• Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records in the companys accounting system.

Financial Reporting Assistance:

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and consolidated annual financial reports, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
• Provide financial insights and commentary on key metrics such as revenue, expenses, margins, and profitability.
• Provide support in preparing quarterly and annual financial reports for management and external auditors.

Reconciliation & Record Keeping:

• Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations, ensuring consistency and accuracy of financial data.
• Verify and process invoices, expense reports, and receipts to ensure compliance with company policies.
• Ensure the accuracy of financial data entry in the accounting software.

Budgeting & Forecasting Support:

• Assist with gathering data and creating basic reports for the budgeting and forecasting process.
• Support the team in analysing financial performance and comparing actuals to budgeted figures.
• Help identify discrepancies and assist in tracking expenses and revenues.
• Internal Controls & Compliance:
• Ensure that accounting procedures and practices comply with internal policies and external regulations.
• Help maintain documentation of accounting processes and financial transactions to support audit requirements.

Cost Control & Profitability Analysis:

• Monitor and evaluate the costs associated with IT services, personnel, and projects.
• Support efforts to improve operational efficiency and drive profitability by identifying cost-saving opportunities and areas of concern.

IT Services Project Financials:

• Oversee financials for large IT projects and service contracts, including resource allocation, timelines, profitability, and margins.
• Ensure proper allocation of costs for multi-year contracts and ensure adherence to financial commitments.

Process Improvement:

• Continuously improve financial analysis and reporting processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness.
• Identify opportunities for system improvements and automation to streamline financial reporting and data analysis.

Compliance & Risk Management:

• Ensure compliance with internal policies, corporate governance standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and data.
• Help maintain documentation of accounting processes and financial transactions to support audit requirements.
